Job Search and Career Coaching Workshop

This is an exploring and planning workshop for… 1) Defining goals and creating direction for manifesting them… 2) Those who have no idea of what they want to do… 3) Those who have lost their jobs and… 4) Those entering the workforce for the first time or the first time in a long time… 5) Those thinking about starting their own businesses.

The 6-hour workshop is focused on engaging a group of individuals in indentifying career goals and creating a resume to support those goals.  In the workshop, attendees will develop a 3-5 year vision, define the first steps for pursuing their goals and outline a strategic plan for getting there.

The process includes four steps:

  •  Positioning-define goals, values and commitment
  • Preparation-identifying competencies and formatting resume
  • Presentation-creating experience-based stories and interview prep
  • Perseverance-creating a plan and working it

Participants will learn a process for job search as well as a process for managing their long-term career goals.   Learning to create a strategic plan and knowing what you will need to accomplish that plan is where many fall short in their career and life directions.

Patricia says:  most people plan better for their vacations than they do for their lives. For the vacation, they know where they are going, what they want to do and what they need to take.

Storytelling Workshop

The purpose and objectives of this workshop are self-discovery and opportunity for improving the overall quality of one’s life.  A great process for an individual, couples, gender focused groups and/or business teams. The workshop involves the participants in experiential activities.

Storytelling is an excellent tool for opening doors to self-discovery and behaviors that may be hindering the growth and effectiveness of an individual, couples or a team of individuals. In everyone’s story lies a piece of another person’s story; therefore, the workshop creates a supportive environment for sharing and learning that comes though processing the individual stories.

Some of the activities that attendees will participate in are:

  • Item Selection Activity and Story
  • Bag of Rags and Story
  • Discovery and Learning Story

The length of this workshop depends upon the size of the group.  An ideal group size is 8-10 participants in a full day workshop. The outcomes of this workshop are unique to each individual but some possibilities are:

  1. A better understanding of oneself and their behaviors
  2. A better understanding of others in the workshop or in life in general
  3. An understanding that we each have stories and how those stories impact our living
  4. Realizing that telling our stories is an opportunity to clear our pasts
